Municipal Practice

We represent governmental entities in both Wisconsin and Michigan including Marinette County, Wisconsin, numerous towns, villages and cities in both Wisconsin and Michigan, and school boards throughout Northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We routinely advise the governing boards of these organizations with respect to all matters of law, including particularly compliance with various Open Meeting Acts, parliamentary and governmental law regulation issues. We have assisted in the drafting of ordinances, resolutions, and communications for these entities.

Jim Morrison has served as the acting Corporation Counsel on two occasions, most recently from August, 1999 through November, 2000 (and continuing on an as needed basis now) representing Marinette County, the Marinette County Child Support Agency, and representing the interest of Marinette County residents in guardianships, protective placements, child support issues, and numerous other matters in which Marinette County was a party or had an interest.
